Adolescents & Teens
“The advice and guidance I’ve received from both my teen mentors and the Centre’s counselors have helped me tremendously in taking control of my destiny. I’m anxious to provide that same guidance to someone else.”
-Shaquitta Smith, age 16
Abraham Lincoln Centre’s adolescent & teen development programs are designed to promote self-sufficiency by providing safe opportunities for 12- to 17-year-old young people to develop academic, leadership and life skills. We offer high-interest activities that are designed to improve the life chances and outcomes for youth, particularly disadvantaged youth. We help young people to build stronger relationships with adults, acquire higher educational aspirations, and improve feelings of personal efficacy.
We provide care and instruction based upon three core values:
- Integrity – honesty, ethical sound judgment and good character.
- Responsibility – Carrying out assigned tasks.
- Respect – Treat others fairly, value individuals without consideration of race, ethnicity, culture, economics or religion.
The Youth & Teens Program is open from 10am to 6pm during the summer and holidays, and from 2pm to 6pm on school days.
