Over the past 105 years the Abraham Lincoln Centre has evolved from a settlement house to one of the preeminent social service agencies that serve Chicago’s south side. Making a planned gift to the Abraham Lincoln Centre is a special way to create a legacy and help sustain our century of service to the community; it may also provide you, your family and/or other beneficiaries with significant tax benefits.
For example, donating appreciated assets is one way to make a sizable gift to the Abraham Lincoln Centre that may enable you to obtain a significant capital gains tax break on the appreciated assets. Donating appreciated assets also may provide an income tax deduction in the year of your gift.
In addition to cash gifts, the Abraham Lincoln Centre welcomes:- Gifts of stock or other assets;
- A bequest in your will;
- A beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy, 401(K) plan or IRA; and
- Life Income Gifts, such as Charitable Lead Trusts.
To provide an enduring gift of support, we invite you to consider including the Abraham Lincoln Centre in your will or revocable living trust. In so doing, you can specify that some or all of your assets come to us after your lifetime, potentially reducing the estate taxes payable. Through thoughtful gift planning, you can enhance both the value of your estate and your bequest to the Abraham Lincoln Centre.
